Unusual Wainscoting

Photo by Ngoc Ninh Ngo via House Beautiful

Today I'm on a quest for inspiration. Searching for unusual wainscoting ideas to apply in our living area. Love the geometric pattern on the above picture designed by Amanda Kyser. Beautiful shade of grey.

Love the extra tall height of this one. Classic yet bold.

And this one reminds me of shiplap. (We have lots of that.) I know they are using shiplap as a wall treatment more and more in new construction. Does anybody have a picture of unusual wainscoting they would like to share?

How I wish I had a photo to share with you. The house where I grew up had beautiful wainscotting in the dining room - painted gloss white, with beautiful green and pink handprinted chinese wall paper and silk curtains. Nice deep plate rail on top, where my mother kept her davenport china, which had the same tones as the paper. At christmas, she'd prop up all of the xmas cards on the rail, with sprigs of holly and pine. Wish I had pix. sigh...

That second picture nearly put me out of my chair, GORGEOUS. Sigh. Everytime I see a picture that inspiring, I'm always reminded of how much I need to CLEAN my house. It's weird how that works.

I love how the sofa matches the green on the walls.
