Reflections

Photo via Elle Decor Aug. 2003

Reflections. Of the year behind us and where we are going. Some, like to make a resolution or maybe a few to ring in the New Year. I prefer to take stock and reflect. Do some tweaking. You know- the old attitude adjustment. Its a good time for change. Even an innately positive person can slip a bit. Negativity can just creep up on you.

Behold the new mission statement around here. "It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see." Thank you Thoreau (and La Dolce Vita ). It resonates with me. It's really ALL about perspective. Quite a mantra for 2009. Happy New Year!

Ah yes, perspective. I talk to myself about perspective every day. For me, it is all about keeping an attitude of gratitude and keeping my glass half full, not half empty.
Thank you for the reminder.

great quote and I must say very true... especially if you ever talk to a teenage girl who has looked in the mirror and not seen her beautiful youth but instead a small blemish on her chin.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog! I have posted a Save Domino Magazine poll on my sidebar. Please help us get as many votes as possible so that maybe we can stop some of what they are wanting to with that little jewel! Thanks so much!

Aah, that quote from Henry Thoreau. I'm familiar with that because that was my motto during my younger years. It was taught to me by my grandpa, who's now residing in an assisted senior living Pittsburgh facility. He was also my favorite poet then. I still look up to him now, but I've realized that it's my grandpa whom I should idolize. Even if he's residing in senior housing (Pennsylvania), he still takes every day as a learning experience. That's the best thing he has taught me.
